I have read an article in yahoo news about the Shroud of Turin in this
link, where in somebody has just imitated the said “holy shroud”.
For others who do not have knowledge of the Shroud of Turin, let me give you a brief background. The Shroud of Turin is a centuries old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. A man that millions believe (Roman Catholics members) to be Jesus of Nazareth. Believers contend that the shroud is the cloth placed on the body of Jesus Christ at the time of his burial, and that the face image is the Holy face of Jesus.
In the Philippines, you can see the face image (like image shown below) inside Catholic Churches. Wherein worshiper and devotees believed to be true.
The Shroud of Turin can be seen in and kept in the royal chapel of the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Turin, Italy. The big question now is: “Is it really the cloth that wrapped his crucified body, or is it simply a medieval forgery, a hoax perpetrated by some clever artist?”
If you are a Bible believer like me, you will not believe on this so called “Shroud of Turin”. Why? Because we can prove that the Shroud is fake with the use of Bible! Let me site you bible verses to prove that this shroud is fake.
In the Gospel of John, we can read a verse that goes something like this:
John 20:6 Simon Peter therefore also cometh, following him, and entered into the tomb; and he beholdeth the linen cloths lying,
John 20:7 and the napkin, that was upon his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself.
As you can see, there are linen cloths and a napkin that was used upon Jesus Christ’s head! So the shroud is not a 1 piece cloth like the Shroud of Turin. The shroud used for the covering of the body is different from the napkin or the cloth used in the head!
Another thing is, the image in the Shroud projects a man with “long hair” which is very unlikely to be the Lord Jesus Christ. Why? Because Christ commanded not to have long hair for boys or men. It is said in:
1 Corinthians 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a dishonor to him?
1 Corinthians 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
See, the man in the shroud has a long hair, which contradicts Christ’s teachings. If it is Jesus Christ, we should be seeing a man with a short hair in the Shroud instead.
These are only some few points based on the bible to falsify the belief that the Shroud of Turin is true.
Biblical speaking, the Shroud is fake. How about in Science?
Various tests have been performed on the shroud and one of the contentious issues is the Radiocarbon dating in 1988 which yielded results indicating that the shroud was made during the Middle Ages.
I really believe that the Shroud of Turin is fake. Biblically, and Scientifically speaking, I can say that it is FAKE.

Anyways, where do you live? You see, it is NOT true that everybody knows it’s fake. Some catholic believers believe that it really was the shroud. In our place, some catholic members touch the picture or the image of the shroud, and then makes a “SIGN OF THE CROSS” afterward. There is no reason to do such thing (making sign of a cross after touching it) if you don’t believe it.
I hope you get my point. This article is not for you who knew that it’s fake.

I am a dedicated catholic, I feel impelled to give my testimony because one needs to witness to the truth where and when necessary. In 1981 I was very privileged to have had a vision of our lord Jesus Christ in a historic church that was dedicated to St.Peter and St.Paul, I saw our Lords face, so sad.And the crown of thorns on his head so clear was this vision i could see the string of thorns encircled many times and the thorns so clear as if one would be pricked by them, I was totally awestruck and as you can imagine this vision took me from being a christian with many question marks to a fervent believer, after the vision i went to my mothers home when i went in to her living room i told my mother of my wonderful vision and was overwhelmed to discover that my mother had a copy of the shroud of Turin on her wall.I immediately said to my mother, this is Jesus Christ, this is who i saw actually as he is. It is him. The holy shroud image is that Of Jesus Christ, I can’t prove it but i would lay my life on this because it is true. I have since 1981 had many other experiences which have also confirmed to me the authenticity of the holy shroud and that it is of our Lord Jesus Christ. You said you saw the lord’s face… if you mean it was the face of the lord Jesus Christ, how does it look like? Does he have a long hair? Please tell me and I will explain further after you answer this question.

Thanks, Gayward, for this Biblical approach– completely missing from the public discussion as far as i can tell. Let me know if you come across an article where the Bible is believed and defended on this issue. I am aghast at the unbelief among so called “believers” they’d rather cling to a tangible lie, than the intangible mind of the God of Truth. The need for evidentialist epistomological props is astounding. The battle for the sufficiency of the WORD of GOD needs to be fought in every generation, but especiallly in this one as apostacy is flooding the churches that once believed the Bible. If one believes the Word of GOD he has no need for relics, and certainly not to “venerate” i.e. worship them. May the LORD open the eyes of folk’s understanding to the absolute and sufficient truth of the Bible.

Pope Benedict xv1 recently in Turin stated himself that the holy shroud of turin is like a photograph,positive and negative, he also said it is a burial cloth which enshrouded the corpse of a crusified man, and corresponds to what the gospels tell us about Jesus. I personaly believe that there is a whole stack of evidence to back up the holy shroud of turins true authentisity , but the real problem is that one still needs to look at the whole situation with the eyes of faith ,through an open mind,which is where most non believers stumble because they then have to accept that the God they dont believe in might actualy exist, which totaly contradicts there views, and puts there non beliefe to the test. In my view the real problem is that when true authentisity is being debated with those who dont believe in the existance of God, they inevitably wont take into consideration anything that might oppose there views, so in reality there is a stalemate, they then base there whole analysis on desisions they have made according to there own human ability to judge which is prone to error, using no more than tests to detemine age, carbon dating which has been proven unreliable, in the tests that have been carried out on the holy shroud of turin, so i ask those scientists lets look at this with an open mind, with a full compleate and unbiased analysis of all the evidence without exeption, then a true and fare conclusion can start to take place, if only for the sake of common sence…YOURS IN CHRIST…FRED…
